Earlier this week, we featured Dr. Victor Lee – the accidental dentist who has dedicated a good fragment of his time to charity work, including dental care for the elderly. You can read more about him and other astounding caregivers in our Caregiver Confidentials segment.

In his 30 years of Dentistry experience, Dr. Lee has helped a diversified group of seniors from the very healthy to the frail to the bedridden. He commented that dental care for the elderly relies heavily on their overall health and vice versa. Unlike seniors who are healthy and able to look after themselves, the frail and bedridden will find it challenging to even brush their teeth, let alone maintain good dental hygiene. In return, they will not be able to chew properly due to gum problems or tooth loss, which will then affect their nutrition and ultimately their overall health.
