I hope everyone had a good long weekend celebrating Hari Raya and Father’s Day. Today, I would like to talk about CaregiverAsia going international.
I attended the talk on the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) organised by CaregiverAsia. I have been procrastinating for a long time to get my LPA done and when this opportunity came up, I jumped on it. The talk also touched on the differences between a Will, an LPA, an Advance Care Plan (ACP) and an Advance Medical Directive (AMD). All of which serve a function different from each other, even if they might overlap.
Payment just got easier on our platform. Careseekers and Caregivers can now make real-time payments by scanning a QR code using their mobile phone (via eNETS QR) or directly from their bank account via eNETS direct debit. Apart from eNETS QR and eNETS direct debit, customers on CaregiverAsia’s platform can also pay for services via credit cards and bank transfers.
We are so excited to have recently launched a new service called CaregiverPlus. Essentially, CaregiverPlus provides comprehensive and personalised triage and care management services that will address the complex care and healthcare needs of patients.
Last couple of weeks, we have seen a number of bullying cases in the media and among these were some relating to special needs children. The behaviour of the bullies was deplorable and should be nipped in the bud.
I have always believed that there are two professions out there that can only be done well if one has a calling; they require selfless service and the utmost devotion to the people they are serving. Any guesses? You’ve guessed it, it is nursing and teaching.
Work-life balance is something we treasure and aspire for but sometimes we are so caught up in the rat race that we forget what really comforts us and makes us happy. Pause a moment, think and reflect. The answer might be right in front of you.
We held our inaugural Community Nursing for Older Adults Workshop. Participants were awarded four Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points. The workshop was a basic introduction to community nursing. The interactive teaching materials in this workshop invited the participants to explore the complexities of nursing in the community; the function of primary healthcare; and to develop a profile of the community in which their clients live and work.
On Feb 21, 2018, the Tripartite Workgroup released its recommendations on self-employed persons (our freelance Caregivers in our case). Among other things, the report recommends that insurance be made available and encourages contribute-as-you-earn model of Medisave contribution. We at CaregiverAsia welcomed this very timely and welcomed announcement.
